Our story

True to the Squamish lifestyle, Luke and Adam met on a mountain bike “date” organized by their wives. They quickly became friends and realized that they had the complementary skill-sets for a promising business partnership. In 2017, Legacy Timberworks Construction was born with a vision to build beautiful custom homes using conventional timber frame construction but with an acute understanding of modern building principles. The company name was coined in appreciation of a local landmark, the “Legacy” climb trail. In the last five years, they have been involved in building custom timber frame homes throughout British Columbia, including the Cariboo/Chilcotins, Golden, Squamish, Whistler and the Gulf Islands.

Born and raised in Ontario, Adam received his Bachelor of Commerce in Hospitality and Tourism from Ryerson University and moved out West in 2003 to pursue a career in carpentry. Adam brings over 16 years of site supervision, large-scale urban concrete forming, and new residential construction to the team. When he’s not head-down on a job-site, you’ll find him skiing, biking, or fishing with his three active sons and wife all over the Sea to Sky. Starting his own construction company has always been the dream, and he’s proud to say that Legacy Timber Works is the result. 

Luke grew up on a cattle ranch in the Cariboo/Chilcotins and moved to Vancouver to receive his Geotechnical Engineering degree from UBC. After completing his Masters of Engineering in Building Science, he worked for RDH Building Engineering in Vancouver for four years, achieving his P.Eng. in the process. His love for building prevailed, encouraging him to start a custom home and timber framing company with Adam. Luke brings a meticulous eye to all projects and will happily take your ideas through the necessary design, permitting, budgeting, and building steps. When he’s not working, you’ll find him riding bikes with his two young children and wife or ticking things off the endless home renovation list.
